Through the Viewfinder
I see photographs everywhere now.
In the way light catches an old doorway. The relationship between two seemingly unrelated things. A shadow that suggests there's something worth discovering just beyond it.
And apparently seeing photographs all day isn't enough. I now dream through a viewfinder.
Perfectly normal hobby behavior, I'm sure.
Somewhere between figuring out aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, I became obsessed with finding the thing inside the thing. The relationships. The layers. The tension. The little details that give a much bigger scene its story.
I'm discovering that I don't necessarily want to show you what something looked like. I want to show you what it felt like.
Are my photographs technically perfect? Hardly. Sometimes my eyes are still considerably more talented than my hands. But I'm learning. Experimenting. Finding my style. And occasionally capturing exactly what I intended.
Practice makes better.
So here's the evolution of a budding photographer with a rather consuming obsession. A visual record of what I'm noticing, discovering, and learning to communicate. I'll let the photographs do the talking. You get to find your own stories.
No grand ambitions. No perfect portfolio. Just a woman, her camera, and a growing fascination with the thing inside the thing.
